पिछली बार यहां कुल 16 में से बीजेपी को सिर्फ पांच सीटें मिलीं थीं, जबकि कांग्रेस और जेवीएम को कुल मिलाकर नौ सीटें मिलीं थीं। ऐसे में बीजेपी ने जेएमएम नेता शिबू सोरेन के गढ़ यानी संथाल क्षेत्र की सीटें जीतने के लिए पूरी ताकत झोंक दी है।
